THE INDEPENDENT YOU!

Our nation is in trouble today, and our only chance is to take quick and decisive action in the way we are responsible as individuals.

Doing everything we could while beseeching the mercies of God will pay a big dividend in the new Nigerian.

We cannot fold our hands and expect a better Nigeria while leaving it all in the hands of the few ruling class.

Why truly, they are responsible for creating an enablement platform for individuals to grow; our part too has to be played.

A few months ago, I got a call from an aspiring governor candidate of a state. I saw the truth rolling down from our conversation. 3 minutes 40 seconds looks like 5 hours of conversation.

I keep pondering on her words; I remember those words from Mother Teresa: “If everyone will sweep their doorstep, the whole world will be clean.”

Many leaders truly want to lead aright, but this cannot happen without the right mind from the followers.

Now let’s get back to leadership.

Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers. (Proverbs 11:14 NIV).

I speak to leaders, not only to our politicians of our dear nation but also to those heroes—those who show up in different colors, sizes, genders, religions, and in many ways—to those who lead quieter lives—the ones who teach in schools or work in restaurants, those who write their poetry and launch their startups, pursue their trade, or parent their children at home, and those who help within communities and listen to the holy book.

FIRST TO THE POLITICAL ELITES!

Proverbs 29:2 KJV says, When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn.”

DON’T SELL OUR FUTURE INTO SLAVERY!

Good people leave an inheritance to their grandchildren, but sinners’ wealth is passed to the godly. Prov 13-22.

DEBT LEADS TO DISASTER!

It is hard for me to believe that our political system does not understand that they are jeopardizing the financial future of the next generations by allowing continuous debt accumulation, even if they are slowing down the rise of the debt.

There are examples of what happens to nations that continue to accumulate debt without regard to its consequences. Like Ancient Rome, modern Greece continued to expand the dole for all citizens while increasing taxes on businesses and doing nothing to foster economic growth.

As it became clear to lending nations that this pattern was continuing with no imposition of fiscal responsibility, they became less willing to make additional loans to the Greek government, precipitating a crisis.

History is there for us to learn and avoid similar pitfalls as a nation.

TO BUSINESS LEADERS!

The growth of a country lies in how business leaders lead and mentor other younger ones.

A man that is worth emulation is Strive Masiyiwa He was the richest man in Zimbabwe; he was named Zimbabwe’s richest man in September 2025. the position I believe he has held since 2018. Even by assets he is not the richest man; I personally would have given him that honor because of how open he is to training and encouraging younger entrepreneurs all around the world.

We also have Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, who, with her teaching, has reshaped the minds of the younger generation on how to approach the business world.

Many billionaires in our country haven’t seen the reason to educate the younger generation and prepare them for the business world.

Business is another world, and I believe our contribution in preparing the younger generation is paramount to our growth as a nation.

PS: In my own little way, I wrote a book specifically for those who are about to start a business. You can get it here =>

TO ALL LEADERS

To pastors, teachers, politicians, parents, role models, and influencers—listen to me… We play a big role in how we are reshaping our country.

Parenting and the godly upbringing are the first responsibilities of building a country, and this should not be dedicated to pastors alone. Rember the words of the holy scripture
Proverbs 22:6
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

The way you are led is the way you will lead others.

We are in a social media world; to our influencer, please be decent in passing your messages.

The decadence of morality in our world has been traceable to what people you influence see and hear. Dr. Sam Adeyemi did excellent work in his book SHIFTS on that topic.

To you reading this who think you are not a leader, understand that no one becomes a leader without first leading himself.

I mean THE INDEPENDENT YOU !

Just like the metaphor from Ralph Waldo Emerson – “The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn”.

also remember what Mahatma Gandhi said– “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

May I ask you an honest question?

WHAT IS YOUR CONTRIBUTION?

Happy 65th Independence to you.
